"Summer's End" Celtic Tea

On Saturday, October 18, from 12:30 - 2:30 pm, join us for the festival of Samhain (pronounced "sow-en") - a celebration of the end of summer!

Haggis Hunt

Honor that elusive little Scottish rascal called Haggis! The Haggis Hunt will be held in co-operation with Bellevue businesses beginning on October 25th and will culminate on November 8th with a Haggis party and concert. Prizes, music, and Scottish fare will wrap up this delightful, fun-filled occasion.

Scottish Gaelic Classes

We welcome back Mr. Harry Webb for his third year as the resident Scottish Gaelic instructor.

Classes begin on Wednesday, September 10. Beginner's class is from 6:30-7:30 PM followed by the Intermediate class, which is from 7:30-9:00 PM. Mr. Webb invites beginners and intermediate students alike to join in both classes.

The fee for the 10 weeks is $60.00, payable at the first class. Beginners need not worry about books as Mr. Webb provides what is needed for each lesson. For more information or to pre-register please call The Celtic Collection at 412-766-1044.


Beginner Bodhran Classes

The Celtic Collection is thrilled to have Brian O'Neill from Northern Ireland as our Beginner Bodhran instructor. Brian brings to us not only his talent but his rich background from growing up in Ireland. For his first class, Brian will be teaching the history of the Bodhran and the importance it plays in Irish History.

Classes will begin on Friday, October 3rd, from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Classes will last 6 weeks at the cost of $10 per class. Bring your own Bodhran if you have one or purchase a beginner drum at The Celtic Collection. Call 412-766-1044 for more information or to sign up.


Penny Whistle Classes

We are also very happy to announce that we have finally found a good Penny Whistle instructor. Andrei Pidkivka is a teacher of Penny Whistle and ethnic flutes with classical training.

Andrei will be teaching on Friday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 pm beginning on Friday, October 3. Classes are $10 each and last for 6 weeks. We do have Penny Whistles here for sale, but bring your own if you have one. Andrei is also available for private lessons. Call 412-766-1044 for more information or to sign up.
